- Rebooting is always a good start, this goes for modems, routers and printers. this is just turning the power off waiting 30 - 60 seconds and turning it back on
- Recording and error numbers and googling.
- Is the computer making noise, listening to your computer and indicate someting is wearing out
- Never download free movies or music as this can lead to viruses
- Becareful of free games or software as they may harm your computer
- keep your operating system up-to-date
- have a good spyware and antivirus program
- Keep vents clear of dust and obstacles
Internet

- Check what lights are on:DSL off means line issue or faulty modem. PPP/www/internet is off modem, ISP or password issue
- Firewall can block your access to the internet, so turn it off
- Call your internet service provider
